"In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song)" is an unreleased cover of a song written by American filmmaker David Lynch performed by Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd. It was intended for the artist's sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow.
Background[]
The track was originally a part of Lynch's 1977 film Eraserhead. Tesfaye is speculated to have initially covered the song during the Starboy sessions, as he tweeted the lyric "in heaven everything is fine..." on May 28, 2016.[1] 2 weeks before the album's release, a KTT user claimed the song with the title "In Heaven Everything Is Fine" produced by Daft Punk, Benny Blanco, Cashmere Cat, Doc and Gesaffelstein did exist and was meant to be on Starboy.
On Mike Dean's March 1, 2024 concert in Los Angeles, Tesfaye made a guest appearance and performed the song live.[2] Months later, he performed the song live during his September 7, 2024 one-night-only in São Paulo, Brazil.
Unfortunately, it ultimately didn't end up on the record itself. It is confirmed, that a studio recording does exist, as an HQ snippet of it is featured in Evan Larsen's recap of the São Paulo show from his Instagram.[3]
