Production[]
The film was written by Trey Edward Shults and Tesfaye and Reza Fahim. It entered production in 2023, and as of its reveal by Deadline in February 2023, it was already being filmed. Contrary to popular belief, the album of the same name was made only after the movie came into fruition, not the other way around.
As of summer 2024, the movie had stayed in the post-production stage for a year, as no company wanted to distribute it.
