"Another One of Me" is a song by the controversial American hip-hop artist and record producer Diddy, Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd, Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, and British-American rapper 21 Savage. It was released as a single on September 15, 2023 through Love Records and Motown.
Background[]
Tesfaye recorded the song throughout multiple points in his career, and for nearly every studio album released by him. "Another One of Me" was first made between 2012-2013 during the Kiss Land sessions. Although it didn't make the cut, it made its return during the Beauty Behind the Madness sessions in 2014-2015, now featuring Belly. For Starboy, Tesfaye worked with DaHeala to rework the track, featuring completely different production and an open verse. Finally, Abel reworked "Another One of Me" with 1500 or Nothin' and London on da Track for Dawn FM, however he ultimately gave up on releasing it as a solo song.
During his August 9, 2023 concert of After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour in Warsaw, Poland, the collab between him and Diddy was previewed, where Tesfaye also stated it would be "the last feature in his career", although he is most likely referring to it being the last feature under "The Weeknd" persona.[1] This version was recorded between 2021-2023, and tens of different incarnations came out of these sessions; some featured American singer-songwriter Jozzy, some featured Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA, and one, bizzare mix even samples Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight".
